General Surgery General surgery includes the diagnosis and treatment of diseases that are resolved by surgical or potentially surgical procedures, both elective and emergency ones, in the following organs: digestive, endocrine, breast, skin and soft tissues, abdominal wall and retroperitoneum.
Bariatric and metabolic surgery Bariatric surgery is a branch of general surgery that is responsible for performing gastrointestinal surgical procedures that cause weight loss and control of comorbidities related to obesity. Meanwhile, metabolic surgery is aimed at controlling diseases such as type 2 diabetes.
Peripheral vascular surgery Peripheral vascular surgery is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure used to treat peripheral artery disease, which causes plaque to build up in the arteries.
Endocrinological surgery Endocrinological surgery is a specialty of general surgery that focuses on the treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the thyroid gland: thyroid nodules, goiter and thyroid cancer, parathyroid gland tumors; very common and less common pathologies of gland tumors adrenal and endocrine tumors of the pancreas.
Oncological surgery Oncological surgery is the one that aims to remove tumors and surrounding tissue.
Urology Urology is the surgical medical specialty that is responsible for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of renal morphological diseases, of urinary system and retro-peritoneum affecting both sexes, as well as diseases of the male genital tract with no difference in age.
Orthopedics and traumatology La ortopedia y la traumatología son especialidades médicas que estudian, diagnostican y dan tratamiento a las enfermedades del sistema musculoesquelético, que incluye hueso, músculo, tendones, articulaciones y estructuras asociadas.
Anesthesiology and algology Anesthesiology is responsible for the care and management of patients receiving surgical treatment, before, during and after surgery.
While algology covers aspects related to methods that allow to reduce the sensitivity to pain, as well as techniques of pain therapy.
Coloproctology The coloproctology department is dedicated to the diagnosis and surgical and non-surgical treatment of diseases that affect the colon, rectum, and anus.
Otolaryngology Otolaryngology is the medical specialty in charge of pathologies of the ear, nose, and throat.

Head of Surgical Specialties Unit

Doctor of Medicine from the Technological Institute of Santo de Domingo (INTEC). He performed general surgery at Salvador B. Gautier and the Dominican Institute of Social Security (IDSS). In turn, he performed another specialty in advanced laparoscopic surgery, bariatric and metabolic surgery endorsed by INTEC.

He is an active member of the Dominican Medical College (CMD), the Society of General Surgeons Dr. Chanlatte Baik, the Dominican College of Surgeons, Dominican Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (SODOCIMEB) and the International Federation of Obesity Surgery and Eating Disorders (IFSO).

He has extensive work experience as an advanced laparoscopic general surgeon, leads the Department of General Surgery at the Dominican Women's Hospital and teaches at the Surgery Boarding School of the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) and the INTEC University.
