Our specialty in nephrology focuses on the study, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of diseases that affect the renal system, especially the kidneys. We also manage conditions such as kidney failure, high blood pressure, electrolyte disorders, and complications from systemic diseases that impact kidney function.

Dr. Alberto Guarionex Flores Almonte

He has over 30 years of experience in medicine. He began his experience in the field of nephrology in 1989 at the Dr. Salvador B. Gautier Hospital, receiving an Honorary Diploma as a distinguished resident, and participated in the rotation at the Nephrology Department of the “La Raza” Medical Center in Mexico City.
He is an academic at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU). He taught dissection, pharmacology practice, clinical semiology, and nephrology in both English and Spanish. Additionally, he served as an intern nephrology professor for the Instituto Tecnológico Dominicano (INTEC) and the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU).
He also served as the General Secretary and later as President of the Dominican Society of Nephrology (SODONEF) from 2006 to 2010. He has held leadership roles as the chief nephrologist at renowned medical centers in the country.
